About this home

Welcome to 26 North Avenue, where a classic brick Colonial has been loved by one family for more than four decades and is now ready for its next chapter. The original owners have cared for this home since they bought it, and it shows. The house is solid and well kept, and it's ready for updating, a chance for the next owners to put their own stamp on it. Mature trees and full landscaping frame the front walk up to the covered porch. Inside, the living room centers on a brick wood-burning fireplace, and a door opens to a side patio for morning coffee. The formal dining room flows into the eat-in kitchen, which has a breakfast nook, big windows that pull in natural light, and direct access to the backyard. A half bath completes the first floor. Hardwood floors run beneath the carpet throughout the first floor and up the staircase, giving the next owners the option to reveal them. Upstairs are four bedrooms, all with hardwood floors. The primary bedroom is generously sized. The second bedroom has built-in shelving, cabinetry and a window seat that would suit a home office, library or den. The third and fourth bedrooms both have hardwood floors and good natural light, so they're flexible for guests, a nursery, a hobby room or a workout space. The tiled full hall bath is well maintained and has a tub/shower combo, under-sink storage and a medicine cabinet. The basement offers laundry, plenty of storage and room to grow. Out back, a huge deck overlooks a sprawling yard with open green space for gardening, play and summer gatherings. Parking is easy, with an attached two-car garage and a driveway that fits four cars. **Key updates have already been made: the roof was replaced in June 2025, and the HVAC system was replaced in April 2023.** The location gives you real suburban living in Wyncote, without giving up access to Philadelphia. The home sits on a quiet residential street in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, just minutes from Jenkintown, Glenside and Elkins Park. Commuters can walk or drive to SEPTA Regional Rail at the Jenkintown-Wyncote Station for an easy ride into Center City Philadelphia. Drivers have quick access to Route 309, Route 611 (Old York Road) and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Curtis Arboretum is close by, with walking paths, open lawns and historic grounds. Sumatra Cafe is a neighborhood favorite for coffee and breakfast. Cedarbrook Plaza and the shops and restaurants of downtown Jenkintown cover everyday errands and nights out. This Wyncote home offers suburban space, neighborhood character and city access, plus a yard that doesn't need a reservation to enjoy. This home is being sold AS-IS.
