About this home

A once-in-a-lifetime ownership opportunity awaits at Das Vogelnest - a true legacy property. Own a piece of Texas history quietly nestled among native hardwoods on the eastern edge of the Hill Country, and only a stone's skip away from the booming antique and design mecca of Round Top-Warrenton. Just off the beaten path, this tranquil retreat affords owners the opportunity to bless others by providing a serene respite for guests to unplug, relax and reflect. Built in 1863 as a wedding gift, the 3,000+sf main house was moved from New Ulm, TX to its current location. Additions were completed in 2007 and 2011. The prior owners enlisted a Round Top-based builder to construct the two bunkhouses in 2017. Identical in layout only, each features its own tasteful theme/decor. While the retreat currently accommodates groups upward of 50-60, the bunkhouse design can be easily duplicated to build additional structures throughout the grounds. Also constructed in 2017, the main dining hall seats 52, and serves as the primary spot for group programs and dining gatherings. Additional attributes of this incredible property include a storage barn/garage, fishing pond with covered pier, 1-mile prayer walk, regulation-sized basketball and volleyball courts under a large, lighted, covered pavilion, and potting house with vegetable, flower and rose gardens, and private gated entry. Please see attached Amenities & Features for comprehensive details. All buyers must be prequalified.
