About this home

Perched on a scenic hilltop overlooking one of the Twin Lakes, this beautifully updated two story cabin offers a rare combination of privacy, elevated water views, and access to one of East Texas' most peaceful lake communities. Thoughtfully designed, the home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a versatile bonus space that could easily serve as a third bedroom, providing flexibility for guests, hobbies, or additional living needs. Situated on 1.529 acres within the gated Gilmer Boating & Fishing Club, the property is surrounded by towering trees and park like grounds, creating a quiet, secluded setting. In addition to the acreage, ownership includes access to approximately two additional acres of shareholder maintained open land, enhancing the sense of space and natural beauty. The home overlooks one of the fully stocked Twin Lakes, and as a shareholder, you will also enjoy access to the second lake within the community, both reserved for just 30 owners and their guests. Whether fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, and bream or simply enjoying the calm water under the no wake policy, the setting is designed for relaxed lake living. Inside, the home blends rustic character with thoughtful updates. The kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and generous cabinetry. Warm Satterwhite wood and blue wormwood accents add richness and authenticity throughout, while a rock fireplace with gas logs anchors the main living area. The layout offers an easy flow for both everyday living and hosting. Additions completed in 2019, including the primary suite, laundry room, sunroom, and an upstairs bedroom, expanded the living space while maintaining the home's inviting cabin feel. Outdoor living takes full advantage of the setting. A screened porch overlooks the water, while the lakeside pool and separate Jacuzzi hot tub create the perfect space for unwinding or entertaining. A private fishing pier extends your connection to the lake, and a fenced dog run ensures comfort for pets as well. Additional features include an outbuilding with a garage workshop, lean-to's on each side for additional covered parking or storage, a Generac whole home generator with RV outlet, private filtered well, and a concrete driveway behind a gated entrance. Opportunities within this community are limited and rarely available. With elevated views, access to both Twin Lakes, and a setting that feels removed from the pace of everyday life while still convenient to Gilmer, this property is well suited for a full time residence or a weekend retreat.
