About this home

"OLD HOLLYWOOD ON HUDSON" - There are homes that impress, and then there are homes that transport you. Set high above the Hudson River on one of Upper Nyack's most coveted & storied parcels, 111 Lexow Avenue is firmly in the latter category-a rare Spanish Mediterranean estate that feels lifted from the hills of Montecito & gracefully placed among the trees & river vistas of the Hudson Valley. Originally constructed in 1918 & quietly tucked away on an extraordinary 2.84-acre estate-like setting, this architectural treasure is one of the most distinctive offerings to come to market in the river towns in recent memory. Enveloped by rolling lawns, mature specimen trees, curated gardens, & glimpses of the shimmering Hudson River beyond, the property unfolds with a sense of scale and privacy rarely found today. Just 25 miles from Manhattan, yet worlds away in feeling, this is a home that offers both escape and connection, with the vibrant energy of Nyack moments away. Spanning nearly 5,500 SF across three sun-filled levels, the residence offers 7 bedrooms & 4.5 bathrooms, wrapped in an unmistakable architectural language of terracotta rooflines, stucco facades, wrought-iron detailing, arched openings, & graceful proportions. The result is a home rich with history and character-a residence that tells a story the moment you arrive. Inside, a dramatic foyer introduces a series of beautifully scaled rooms filled with natural light & timeless craftsmanship. Original parquet floors, intricate millwork, oversized windows, French doors, soaring ceilings, and elegant fireplaces create an atmosphere that feels both grand & inviting. Every room reveals another architectural moment-from the sweeping wrought-iron staircase & sun-drenched living room to the coffered dining room & enchanting garden room. The interiors strike a rare balance between sophistication & warmth, with a cinematic quality that evokes old-world glamour. It is easy to imagine summer soirees spilling onto the grounds & evenings gathered around the fire as the sun sets beyond the river. For those with vision, the possibilities here are extraordinary. Whether thoughtfully restored to its original grandeur, elevated into a modern design masterpiece, or curated as a multigenerational retreat, the estate offers a canvas unlike any other. Homes with this level of architectural pedigree, acreage, privacy, & location rarely become available. Beyond the residence itself lies one of the property's greatest assets: nearly three acres of park-like grounds in the heart of Upper Nyack. Rolling lawns unfold in every direction, creating a sense of openness & serenity rarely found this close to New York City. A secluded in-ground pool is tucked among the trees, complemented by Hudson River views. The grounds feel less like a backyard & more like a private botanical estate-offering opportunities for recreation, entertaining, & expansion. The location is equally exceptional. Nestled within the historic enclave of Upper Nyack-long admired for its gracious sidewalks, grand estates, artistic heritage, & riverfront charm-the home sits moments from downtown Nyack. Enjoy acclaimed restaurants, charming cafes, art galleries, boutique shopping, riverfront parks, marinas, farmers markets, live music venues, & community events. Spend your mornings kayaking along the Hudson, your afternoons hiking the dramatic trails of the 676 acre Hook Mountain State Park, & your evenings dining al fresco along the waterfront. Nearby access to the Mario Cuomo Bridge, Tarrytown train station, & major parkways provides a seamless connection to Manhattan just 30 minutes away. Rarely does a property possess this combination of architectural significance, acreage, location, & untapped potential. Romantic, storied, & undeniably iconic, 111 Lexow Avenue is more than a home-it is an estate of enduring beauty & endless possibility. A place where Old Hollywood glamour meets Hudson Valley grandeur.
